Craigslist, FBI, Washington
State Attorney General, US Postal Inspector, PayPal, Microsoft, Symantec and
MySpace Converge at the Authentication and Online Trust Summit to Share Best
Practices for Online Safety
SEATTLE, WA - April 15, 2008 - Today, the Authentication and
Online Trust Alliance (AOTA) announced keynote speakers for its 4th annual
Summit focused on enhancing online trust, confidence and brand protection
from escalating online threats. The event offers valuable insights and
networking opportunities for security, marketing, IT and brand management
professionals who are taking an active role in the future of e-commerce and
Web 2.0. The Summit takes place June 4 - 5 in Seattle, WA. The AOTA Email
Deliverability and Trust Academy, a separate but related event, will take
place the following day, on Friday, June 6th.
The keynote and plenary speakers at the Authentication
and Online Trust Summit are leaders in marketing, technology and government.
On June 4, David Daniels, vice president of JupiterResearch, and Craig
Newmark, founder of Craigslist, will discuss strategies for providing value
to users, creating a culture of trust and privacy and dealing with deception
and cybercriminals. Following keynotes on day one of the Summit include
Michael Barrett, chief security officer for PayPal, Howard Schmidt, former
White House cyber security advisor, Tom Donlea, executive director of the
Merchant Risk Council, Kenneth Blotteaux, deputy director for the National
Cyber & Forensics Alliance, and Scott Weiss, co-founder of IronPort Systems.
Day two will kick off with a keynote titled, "Defining
Customer Trust Points." Attendees will learn the best practices for fighting
cybercrime and protecting businesses and consumers online. The keynote will
be delivered by Chris Siouris, U.S. postal inspector, cyber investigations,
Hemanshu Nigram, chief security officer of Fox Interactive Media and MySpace
and Rob McKenna, Washington State attorney general.
AOTA selected the keynotes to exemplify the theme of
this year's Authentication and Online Trust Summit, "Reaching the Tipping
Point: The Future of Online Trust." Over 50 speakers from leading financial,
retail, media and e-commerce brands as well as government agencies and
industry analysts will provide insight and proven strategies for protecting
businesses and improving consumer confidence in online shopping, banking,
marketing and electronic transfers.

Direct Marketing Association (DMA) and the Email Experience Council (ecc).
As an educational event, the Academy will provide attendees with insights
and practical application guidance from leading marketers, ISPs and
deliverability consultants. The academy aims to help attendees enhance
deliverability and performance to drive maximum results and ROI.
Attendees who successfully pass the program test, will be awarded a
certificate of completion.
